Tell us about your book:
"Boomer The Rabbit" is a story about a rabbit who is picked on because he is different from the other rabbits in his neighborhood. This difference later turns out to be useful in saving the other rabbits' lives, and because of it, he becomes a hero. With the guidance of the adult reader, this story teaches a strong moral code about why it's wrong to pick on others who are perceived as being different and teaches the child to look for the positives in human nature.
How does this book relate to your real-life experiences?
Every child either is or has been picked on at some time in their lives - even the author of this book. This book will help equip a child on how to deal with negative situational behaviors by looking at the positive attributes in others.
How long did it take to write the book?
It took two months from concept to rough draft, initial edits, final edit, and proofing to finally see this novel published on 06/09/2022.
What inspired you to write the book?
I have witnessed inappropriate behavior of children who were instigating and participating in the act of bullying and was looking for a way to demonstrate and teach children that being "different" can be a strength to be cultivated within their positive socialization.
Let's talk about the writing process. Did you have a writing routine? Did you do any research, and if so, what did that involve?
I write during the night and early morning hours. The process of writing this book and others involves having an idea, doing research on the subject matter, and the diligence to see it come to fruition.
What do you hope your readers come away with after reading your book?
I would hope that not only they but also the child with whom they are reading this book will come to the realization that being "different" isn't something to be fearful of and, therefore, be made fun of just because they do not understand a given situation, but to come to realize that it is something to be used to enrich one's life through a better understanding of what that difference is as it relates to one's socialization.

Excerpt from this novel:
"At nine weeks, Bommer weighed five pounds, a large amount of which was because of his feet. He had the reputation of having the largest feet of any rabbit around. Because of it, the other rabbits would point and laugh at him."
"His heart was pounding when he heard the dogs outside his hiding place sniffing and barking intermittently. Then, one of them put his head inside the hollow log and barked when he caught Boomer's scent."
